Disruption fears dampen business banking changes

Monday 10 April 2006

More than a third of SMEs are hesitant to change their business bank because of possible disruption to their banking arrangements. Recent research from Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank reveals 39% of SMEs are uncertain about changing their business bank because of the perceived cost and hassle involved.

However, the recent Business Banking Observer also found that 70% of SMEs would switch to a new bank if they were offered lower account charges, whilst 65% would move elsewhere because of poor service at their current bank.
